Lord Cecil : Tribute to a location former

The concept behind this beautifully curated exhibition was to pay tribute to the previous space in which the practice moved his offices and showroom .

The Lord Cecil Pub

The historical events, tales from the community, stories of the past served as inspirational ground.

Four topics were echoing louder than others :Victorian era, punk spot, panther escapee and fire.

Triangular shaped mirrors were displayed to look like glass scattered and shattered with the possibilities of combining two or more pieces together to make a bigger mirror and elect a geometrical shape such as diamond, rectangle, square …etc.

To match favoured pieces as wanted.

Reminder of a well kept counter :

Several set of eglomise coasters were made .

The example presented took inspiration from England celebrated victorian tiles pattern from the time of the pub.

Black Panther :

Word of mouth made the pub landlord the eccentric owner of a black panther which had previously escaped from the London Zoo.

This eglomise piece picturing the animal in hiding was created to keep the story alive and the word spreading.

Panther claw :

A panther’s claw through a golden cage door added glam to the hearsay.

Seventies Punk Hub :

To illustrate the influential and affluential punk era, Golden age of the pub.S

ome of the fashionable patterns used in closing then were translated into mirrors.

As to keep record of the time the pub burned down :

With black and white gold leaves reminder of the ashes this organic finish was specifically created for this project to highlight the fire the place went throught.
